Dr. Zurek has a joint appointment in the Department of Entomology and the Department of Diagnostic Medicine and Pathobiology. His research program focuses on microbial ecology, specifically ecology of food-borne and animal pathogens; ecology and horizontal transfer of antibiotic resistance and virulence genes; and insect and mammalian gastro-intestinal microbial ecology.
